Beyond the Ponytail: Easy Hairstyles for Moms

Sometimes we moms don’t even have time to wash our hair, let alone do anything special to it. The solution is usually to pull it back in a ponytail, but these alternative updos will also get your hair off your face in seconds, with more style.

LOW BUN
A ladylike knot at the nape of the neck pairs nicely with a super-feminine, Mad Men-inspired outfit. Keep the look sleek for work.  For nighttime, create a looser bun and shake out some pieces to frame your face.

Tip: If you can’t manage a traditional wash, TRESemmé®  Purify & Replenish Shampoo absorbs oil and leaves hair refreshed.

MILKMAID BRAIDS
This cute, youthful style features two braids that arch from one ear to the other like a headband. It may look fancy, but it’s pretty simple to achieve. Just use elastic bands to gather a low ponytail on either side of your head. Braid each ponytail, secure the ends with two more elastics, and pin the braids up and over your head so they form a crown, tucking the ends underneath.

Tip: Suave® Extreme Hold Hairspray will give long-lasting hold to help keep your updo in place.

SIDE-PARTED PONYTAIL
Can’t quit your favorite hairdo? Instead of pulling it straight back, use a comb to part your hair deeply on the side, and then gather it together in a ponytail.

Tip: Clear® Strong Lengths Nourishing Shampoo and Clear® Strong Lengths Nourishing Conditioner nourishes the scalp and helps keep hair from breaking.

TOPKNOT
Think of this style as a bun that has migrated up to the tippy-top of your head. A bonus: When you undo it at the end of the day, you’ll have pretty waves.
