An Italian classic with a Talenti twist. Our affogato recipe combines rich espresso with creamy gelato for an effortlessly elegant dessert or an elevated afternoon pick-me-up.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1–2 scoops of Talenti Madagascan Vanilla Bean Gelato (other great options: Talenti Belgian Chocolate Gelato or Talenti Caramel Cookie Crunch Gelato) (Link opens in new window.)
  • 1 shot (about 1 oz) of freshly brewed hot espresso
  • Optional toppings:  Shaved dark chocolate, biscotti crumbles, or caramel drizzle

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Scoop your gelato into a small glass or dessert bowl. Traditionally, affogato is made with vanilla gelato to let the espresso shine, but you can experiment with flavors like chocolate or caramel.
  2. Brew a fresh shot of espresso. The hotter, the better.
  3. Pour the espresso over the gelato, letting it to melt slightly into a rich, creamy blend.
  4. Enjoy as is or top with shaved dark chocolate, crumbled biscotti, or caramel sauce.
