Deodorant or Body Spray?

You don’t just want to smell fresh – you want to smell fly, no matter what life throws your way. Axe deodorants (Link opens in new window.) work on their own, but if you’ve been using Axe deodorant and you just love its complex, bold signature scent, maybe it’s time for you to take your relationship with fragrance to the next level.

Axe body sprays (Link opens in new window.) are just as irresistible smelling as Axe deodorants and antiperspirants, and their new formula is just the right strength, so you can level up your scent without it being overpowering.

So what’s the down-low? Do you use it instead of, or with? And what the heck is the difference between deodorant and body spray?

Deodorant vs. body spray vs. antiperspirant vs. cologne

Ok, let’s break it down. We all know that sweat causes body odor: sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. That’s why antiperspirant and deodorant are such important tools for keeping you feeling protected against moisture and body odor. Deodorant fights body odor by neutralizing the bacteria that causes it, and by covering any odor with a pleasant scent. Antiperspirant stops sweat in its tracks.

Now, back in the day before deodorant and regular showering were invented, people masked their body odor using lots and lots of fragrance. The only problem? Fragrance works with your existing body odor, it doesn’t really neutralize it. Thankfully, we’ve got deodorant now, so fragrance can get back to doing what it does best: making you smell great wherever you go.

Body spray, aftershave and cologne are all fragrances: the main difference is in their scent concentration, aka how strong they smell. Axe body sprays are specially designed for younger guys, to deliver a lasting but subtle scent that works all day but doesn’t take over.

Do you use deodorant with cologne?

Deodorant is normally applied to the sweat-producing parts of your body, like your underarms, while fragrance to other parts of your body, like pulse points and your chest. So the first is for fighting body odor, while fragrance works to make you smell great and feel good. Together? They –and you – are unstoppable.

Axe deodorants smell fly and can work on their own to keep you smelling sexy and on top of the world. But if you want to kick it up a notch, then look at a daily fragrance body spray in the same scent. Better yet, start with the body wash and your scent will be humming a beautiful tune all day.
