Directions
Print1. For CARAMELIZED ONIONS, heat oil in large nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add onions and baking soda. Cook, stirring occasionally, about 10 minutes or until onions are browned and caramelized. Remove from skillet; season, if desired, with salt and set aside.
2. For SMASH CHEESEBURGERS, mix ground beef with Mayonnaise until well blended. Season with salt, if desired. Loosely roll ground beef into 4 balls. Place on a pre-heated skillet or grill pan over high heat and immediately press down into a thin patty with a spatula. Cook without moving about 2 minutes or until a crispy crust forms. Scrape underneath the burger with spatula making sure to get all brown bits, flip and top with sliced cheese. Continue cooking until thoroughly cooked and cheese is melted.
3. Serve on buns topped with caramelized onions, lettuce, sliced tomato and additional Mayonnaise.
