Bourbon Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe | Breyers
The ultimate bourbon vanilla ice cream recipe that combines Breyers’ Natural Vanilla with smooth bourbon for a grown-up dessert you can make at home.
- 1.5 qt Breyers® Natural Vanilla ice cream
- 4-5 tablespoons Bourbon
- 1/4 cup caramel sauce
- toasted pecans or chocolate shavings , for garnish (optional)
Directions
Print1. Remove Breyers Natural Vanilla Ice Cream from the freezer and let it stand at room temperature for about 3 minutes. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
2. Add 1 tablespoon of the bourbon to the ice cream and gently fold until evenly blended and smooth.
3. For a more pronounced bourbon flavor, you can add up to 1 additional tablespoon bourbon when mixing the ice cream. Keep in mind that alcohol lowers the freezing point, so the ice cream may remain slightly softer after refreezing.
4. Spoon the mixture back into the original container or a freezer-safe loaf pan.
5. Smooth the top, cover and freeze until firm.
6. While the ice cream is in the freezer, stir the remaining 3 tablespoons of bourbon into the caramel sauce until fully combined. Refrigerate until ready to use.
7. Scoop the ice cream into bowls and place the bourbon caramel sauce on the table so guests can drizzle as much or as little as they like.
8. Finish with optional garnishes and serve immediately.
