  3. 1-2 tsp neutral oil (such as vegetable or canola)

1. Add the black sesame seeds to a dry pan over medium heat. Toast for 2–3 minutes until fragrant, stirring often. This brings out that nutty flavor essential to black sesame ice cream.

2. Add the toasted seeds, honey (or other sweetener), neutral oil, toasted sesame oil (if using), vanilla, and salt to a blender or food processor. Blend until a smooth, glossy paste forms.

3. Taste and adjust sweetness. Let the paste cool fully to room temperature.

4. Let your Breyers Natural Vanilla ice cream soften at room temperature for 10 minutes. You want it scoopable but not melted.

5. Scoop the softened ice cream into a large bowl. Add dollops of the black sesame paste and gently swirl using a spatula. Aim for ribbons and marbled streaks rather than mixing it fully. This is what gives your black sesame ice cream its signature look.

6. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan or freezer-safe container. Cover and freeze for at least 4–6 hours, or overnight for the best texture.

7. Scoop into bowls or cones.
